Get to know the Smyrna UCC Church staff!

Rev. Jennifer Garrison, Minister

Rev. Jennifer graduated from the Seattle University's School of Theology and Ministry in 2004 while in her mid 30's.  She has served churches in Seattle, WA, Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA.  

 

She is a spiritual director and a writer.  She is a contributer to the UCC's Daily Devotional, received monthly by more than 30,000 readers, as well as the copywriter for the national church's bulletin service.

 

Moderator

Carl Menkel

Carl is a active volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, serving the local community. He is our new moderator beginningin January 2026.

Kristin Wilson

Kristin is an active member of Smyrna and supports our ministry in many ways.

Treasurer

Barbara Daniels

 Barbara retired from many years in the insurance finance sector. 

Pianist

Susan Johnson

Susan began serving Smyrna with her beautiful piano/music skill in late 2025.  In addition to our weekly services, she formed and leads our choir.

Music Leader/Organist

Joel Daniels

Joel has provided music services to Smyrna since 1957.  He recently turned over accompanying weekly services and now leads Smyrna's bell choir as well as playing the organ on occasion.

Christine Cline

Christine's beautiful soprano voice has graced our church for many years.  Christine retired from the service industry and lives with her husband on the family farm near Smyrna.

Secretary/Editor

Jeannie Rogers

Jeannie is our long time secretary.  She is also the editor of our monthly newsletter, The Behold!.  She works in our local library.

Assistant Editor

Elaine Daniels

Elaine assist our editor in publishing the monthly newsletter.  She also manages the church calendar.  Elaine retired from many years in the field of education.

Office Admin

Leo Aguilar

Leo is the Office Administrator at Smyrna Church.  She also manages the use and rental of church facilities, Friendship Hall and our commercial kitchen.

Landscape/Grounds

Mary Namit

Mary Namit leads the landscaping effort at Smyrna.  Her background is in wildlife preservation and education.

Isidro and Ramon keep the grass mowed and trimmed.
